Alchemy is one of the fastest-growing platforms in the tabletop RPG space—built for cinematic, immersive, and story-first online play. What began as a passion project has become the most funded virtual tabletop in crowdfunding history, with hundreds of thousands of GMs around the world using Alchemy to tell stories with their friends every day.

Our mission is simple: to make playing, creating, and sharing tabletop roleplaying games effortless and unforgettable. We’ve built a strong foundation—but our biggest chapters are still unwritten. We’re looking for a Software Engineer, Front-End to join our team and help us shape what comes next.

The Role

You’re a developer who combines technical depth with a strong eye for design. You’ll help craft user interfaces that are not only fast and reliable, but beautiful and intuitive. You’ll work closely with product, design, and content teams to bring new features to life—from core UI architecture to finely-tuned interactions that enhance the storytelling experience.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role on a small, fast-moving team. You’ll ship meaningful features, influence our front-end architecture, and play a key part in crafting the player experience. 

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Must-Haves

  • Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript

  • Strong experience with React

  • Solid grasp of component-based architecture, state management, and modern build tools

  • A sharp eye for UI/UX design and usability best practices

  • 5+ years experience as a software engineer working on client-facing projects

Nice-to-Haves

  • Tailwind CSS for rapid interface development

  • Apollo GraphQL for client-server communication

  • Electron for cross-platform desktop app development

Bonus Points

  • Experience running, playing, and/or creating games on Alchemy

  • A working knowledge of TTRPG game mechanics

  • Background in game development, design, or game-adjacent tools

While we’re fully remote, we prefer candidates who can align their core working hours with Pacific Time.

Compensation: $80,000 – $100,000 USD annually, based on experience
Location: Remote (U.S.-friendly time zones preferred)
